UK Publisher Transforms Books Into Visual Art - Indy Posted

Spineless-Classics1The New York Daily News recently reported on a publishing company?s unique, artistic transformation of written artifacts.

Spineless Classics is a publishing company based in the United Kingdom. Apart from literature, however, the firm has begun producing unique, artistic prints. The muses are somewhat extraordinary: literary classics.

The company uses the entire text of a book. Graphic artists then arrange every word to fit on a single page. The kicker is that shapes and designs that represent the subjected novels are produced. At certain sizes, the words are legible and readable.

Surely, Spineless Classics does not expect customers to read the full text in its entirety. Yet, the team behind the project believes that fanatics will appreciate the unique effort. Novels like Pride and Prejudice and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer?s Stone are already available among others. The transformations are flattened posters that bookworms can hang on almost any wall.

Bibliophiles who are avid about decorating spaces with book-esque pieces now have a remarkable new option. Spineless Classics? work is still fresh, but it currently sells prints for Little Women and Black Beauty, as well. The famous Sherlock Holmes tale, The Hound of the Baskervilles is also available for purchase from the company.

Spineless Classics founder Carl Pappenheim did not just have fiction in mind for the new art. Significant documents such as the United States Constitution and the Book of Genesis from the Bible have also been transformed into visual artworks. In short, one of Pappenheim?s core values is to respect the original work. By maintaining the purity of the text to every acute detail, the posters can be as timeless as their original books.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer?s Stone was the most recent work to undergo treatment by Spineless Classics. J.K. Rowling?s first book in a world-renowned series is available in various sizes. The wall art features a white cutout of Harry Potter?s glasses, as well as his owl, Hedwig. Rowling made a contingency that author royalties from the 30-by-40 inch prints shall be donated to Lumos, her charity which assists disadvantaged children.

The company?s exceptional art launch coincides with the 15th anniversary of Harry Potter?s first stateside publication. Spineless Classics prints locally in the United States and UK, and the posters are available in a range of sizes so as to accommodate the length of the text and satisfy bookworms everywhere.
